Honduras Flor Azul is a coffee from the Marcala region in the La Paz department. It comes from small and medium-sized producers associated with MARCAFE, who grow coffee on the slopes of the Montecillos mountain range. This is a clean washed coffee with stable quality, clear origin and an honest Central American character.

The story behind this coffee

Honduras may be a relatively small country, but it is one of the largest coffee producers in Central America. The country is known for its mountainous landscape, forests and lush nature, which is why it is sometimes described as the “green lungs” of Central America.

Flor Azul comes from Marcala, one of the special coffee regions of Honduras. Marcala is located in the southwestern part of the country near the border with El Salvador and belongs to the wider Montecillos region, known for suitable growing conditions and higher altitudes.

The coffee is produced by farmers associated with MARCAFE — an association of around 660 producers. They grow coffee on approximately 70 hectares and work with varieties such as Catuai, Pacas, Pache, Icatu and Bourbon. Their work focuses on environmentally conscious farming practices, enriching the soil with organic matter, protecting forests and saving water resources.
